Clearly demonstrating its ability to provide tailor-made visual solutions that deliver rapid return on investment for end customers, Norway's projectiondesign has supplied its projectors to specialist AV systems designer and integrator Jumbo Vision International. These are used in a communication and control room environment aimed at facilitating decision-making during critical stages in the commissioning and running of natural gas and oil wells.

"We've designed and built two rooms which use a trio of projectiondesign F32 wuxga resolution projectors, edge blended, while the second of the two has an additional F22 wuxga resolution projector for ad-hoc, conference-style meetings," explains Lena Kimenkowski, General Manager at Jumbo Vision International. "It was our job to integrate the visual display systems with existing IT infrastructure, and also with video-conferencing hardware and an AMX control system with a user-friendly front end."

"Both rooms are used 24/7 and 365 days a year, so projectiondesign's dual-lamp function has been essential in ensuring that there is absolutely no down-time. The very high resolution of the projectors has also been invaluable, because a lot of the information being displayed at these facilities is highly detailed."

This project has broken new ground in terms of operational flexibility, increased viewing and efficiency. They are used during the planning, design and execution phases of a well, bringing together different teams and personnel at different stages.

"The sorts of risk reduction and efficient deployment of resources that result from this type of implementation can bring about savings of millions of dollars a year. We are delighted that the combination of Jumbo Vision's integration skills and projectiondesign's display technology expertise has brought us such impressive results in Western Australia."

Anders Lkke, Marketing Director at projectiondesign, concludes: "The fact that Jumbo Vision has supplied our technology for this specialized application is a huge vote of confidence in us and in our philosophy."

"We are proud to be associated with the Jumbo Vision and look forward to supplying high-resolution projectors to more collaborative-working and simulation projects all over the world in the months and years to come."

Collaborative working was a stand highlight for visitors to Integrated Systems Europe 2012, which took place between 31 January - 2 February 2012 on stand 1M27, Amsterdam RAI.
