Surveon, the complete megapixel solutions provider, recently announced the latest upgrade for the Smart Megapixel Recorder (SMR) Series, optimized with 16-channel live view, recording and playback capability. The SMR series is the all-in-one desktop megapixel hardware RAID NVR. While most NVR systems require high end, high power and expensive PCs to reach 16-channel HD live view and recording, project installers can deploy the SMR series offering a compact size, low power consumption, and professional yet economical megapixel solutions.

Surveon SMR vs Common PC-based NVR:

Designed to meet the needs of megapixel video surveillance, the SMR systems feature 6 to 48-channel local display with 1920x1080 resolution. The systems accommodate up to eight hot-swappable disk drives with hardware RAID that ensures system performance and data protection. The RAID protection also secures zero down time and easy maintenance, reducing problems caused by onsite hard disk failure. The non-COTS system design offers a highly integrated and proven solution for security integrators, minimizing the installation, compatibility and maintenance issues associated with traditional PC+Software solutions and enabling them to easily upgrade to small- to medium-sized megapixel surveillance projects, such as retail stores, restaurants, hotels, banks, and SMB.

All SMR products are based on Surveon’s VMS framework and provide enterprise-level features, including real-time video analytics, remote management, multi-display, video bookmarking, iPhone and HTML clients. In addition, the VMS central management allows easy installation of one to hundreds of NVRs on the same distributed framework, making it possible for SIs to scale the surveillance network to any sizes.
