Arup, the global design and consulting business, is delighted to announce the appointment of Sir David Omand GCB to a role as a consultant to Arup Security Consulting.

Sir David joins Arup after a long and remarkable career in the United Kingdom public service and academia.  He is currently a visiting Professor at the War Studies Department, King's College, London and a regular speaker and writer on counter-terrorism and security, the ethical dimension of leadership and on the use of scientific method in intelligence assessment.  He has served previously as the first UK Security and Intelligence Coordinator as a Permanent Secretary in the Cabinet Office, Permanent Secretary at the Home Office, Director of GCHQ and Deputy Under-Secretary for Policy at the Ministry of Defence.
