| Paper Dreams assisted Tavcom by printing, compiling and binding course material for security industry training courses |
Mike Tennent, Managing Director of Tavcom recently participated in an award ceremony that took place at Highbury College, Portsmouth to acknowledge the achievements of students with learning difficulties.
Paper Dreams, part of Highbury College’s Foundation Studies department, provides training for adults with learning disabilities in order to improve their chances of finding work within the community. The Quality of Service award presented by Mike Tennent recognized the consistently high levels of service that Paper Dreams had provided to Tavcom over the last five years.
Students who attend the Paper Dreams training programmes have assisted Tavcom by printing, compiling and binding course material for the hundreds of security industry training courses which are conducted every year at the company’s Bishops Waltham training centre. “Rather like the security professionals who improve their skills when they use the ‘hands-on’ facilities in our workshops, the Paper Dreams students are able to obtain work experience by providing a service to companies such as Tavcom,” said Mike Tennent. “It is a commercial arrangement but we are nevertheless very pleased to be able to contribute to the opportunities for the students to gain real-life practical skills and they have told us that they are thrilled that Tavcom students across the world are recipients of their good work.”
