Security firm makes triple appointment to strengthen operation

Octavian Security has announced three new appointments at its Nottingham headquarters, following a sustained period of growth, taking its total staff head count to 287.

The first new appointment, Gwen Durban, joins Octavian as its new business development and marketing coordinator, and will be working as part of the team focussed on European development.  Armed with a degree in Law, experience of working in the communications department of Boots and fluent French speaking, Gwen hopes to make an early impact in her career at Octavian.

New HR manager, Clair Mapstone, will be responsible for implementing and maintaining Octavian's progressive new HR strategy and joins the company following a year spent working with the Red Cross and the World Health Organization in Indonesia.

Operations assistant, Roxanne Lee will assist the firm's fast-paced operations department, using her vast organizational and communication skills to assist in the co-ordination of the firm's security activities across Europe and the Middle East. Originally from South Africa, Roxanne previously worked as a lecturer.

Managing director, Sukhi Ghuman says of the new appointments: "Octavian has experienced rapid growth over the last year, including our new operation in Dubai."

"Gwen, Roxanne and Clair all have exceptional skill sets, which will make them valuable members of the team, and in keeping with Octavian's progressive recruitment ethos, we have selected the best people, who have exceptional transferable attributes."

"Whilst relevant experience is a necessity at Octavian, we also value people who can bring something different to the table, enabling us to provide innovative first class solutions and service provision for our vast and diverse base of clients."

These appointments follow the firm's recent board expansion, which saw Jot Engelbrecht and Anthony Henry appointed to Octavian Security's board.
